What’s an easy way to calm myself down when I have a panic attack?
Lately, I’ve been having more and more panic attacks. I would lay down, get a paper bag, and breath into it until I could breath calmly again. But afterwords, my chest would slightly hurt. I had a small panic attack yesterday, and my chest was hurting a bit this morning. Is there a way to calm myself down in a safer way? And can you give me any advice to help me get less panic attacks?

I know, panic attacks suck, right?
Try to learn the triggers of a panic attack and avoid them. Breathe slowly, concentrate on stopping the anxious feelings. Tell yourself that it’s only a panic attack, it can’t hurt you. Sit down or lay down and close your eyes. Breate in, 1,2,3, breathe out, 1,2,3. Listen to relaxing music if you find it helps. Read, watch TV, do something to distract yourself. The best way is to take deep and long breaths. Try not to think about what is causing you to panic.
