This sems like it could be a great help for someone suffering with anxiety, however it can also be very overwhelming. It is definately not a quick fix. This is more like a study guide, kinda like taking a class. If you need immediate help, I suggest seeing a professional as apposed to buying this book. If you have plenty of time on your hands and your anxiety os already under control, then this book can be helpful.

This was a great book in explaining the causes and triggers of anxiety and panic. The treatment section seemed to rely a bit too much on other book’s and therapist’s methods.
The main problem I had was the constant focus on bad parenting as the source of why some suffer from panic and others don’t. Parents don’t TRY to instill panic and anxiety in their children. They were doing what they thought was right.
As for the book’s contents, I had much more success with the Barlow & Craske program on Mastery of your Anxiety and Panic.

The book is probably great to those that know nothing about any psychological concepts. But most of the information is already out there on the internet or in other psychological books. This is definately not for people who already have done prior research. Many of the ideas like finding your “inner child” seem somewhat implausible to me.
